More Than Just Books

Step inside Bibliobar and you’ll find shelves filled with general interest books, children’s titles, and bookish gifts. The store is designed for comfort, with cozy corners for reading and plenty of space for conversation. Whether you’re looking for the latest bestseller, a classic novel, or a unique gift for a fellow book lover, there’s something here for everyone.

But Bibliobar offers more than just books. You can enjoy a cup of coffee, a glass of wine, or even a craft beer while you browse. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, making it easy to lose track of time as you flip through the pages of your next great read.

Events That Bring People Together

Bibliobar puts a strong focus on community and connection. The store hosts a variety of events every week, making it a lively gathering place for locals and visitors alike. Here are just a few of the regular happenings:

  • Book Clubs: From poetry nights to genre-specific gatherings, there’s a club for every reader. The Poetry Book Club, for example, welcomes everyone—no assigned reading, just a chance to share and discuss poems that inspire you.

  • Story Time for Kids: Families can bring their little ones for engaging story sessions and educational workshops. There’s a dedicated children’s space filled with the best children’s books and activities.

  • Author Readings and Signings: Meet your favorite writers, hear them read from their latest works, and get your books signed.

  • Wine Tastings and Game Nights: Bibliobar isn’t just about reading—it’s also about having fun. Enjoy a wine tasting with friends or test your skills at a game night.

Special events, like the grand opening on Independent Bookstore Day, have featured ribbon cuttings, author signings every hour, tarot readings, and local craft beer. These gatherings are free and open to all, creating a welcoming environment where everyone can feel at home.

A Family-Friendly Space

Bibliobar is designed to be a spot where everyone feels comfortable. Bring your kids for a playdate, gather with friends for a book discussion, or simply enjoy a quiet afternoon with a good book. The store’s dedicated children’s area makes it easy for families to spend time together, and the variety of events ensures there’s always something new to experience.

Local Roots and Bookish Passion

Owner Chelsea Green brings years of experience in the book industry to Bibliobar. After working for a major publisher in New York and a bookstore chain, she returned to Texas to be closer to family and keep her passion for books alive. Bibliobar started as a pop-up in 2018, and after a brief hiatus, found its permanent home in the historic Schell Building as part of the Plano Shopping Co-Op. The Co-Op also includes Vintage Gnomey, a clothing store run by Chelsea’s sister-in-law.

Chelsea’s love for books and community shines through in every detail of Bibliobar. She’s committed to making the store a place where new and seasoned readers alike can feel at ease, discover something new, and share their love of reading with others.

Supporting Schools and Libraries

Bibliobar extends its reach beyond the store with outside sales and partnerships with schools and libraries. The team works with educators and librarians to provide books and resources for classrooms and community programs. This commitment to literacy and learning helps spread the joy of reading throughout Plano and beyond.

Shop Online or In Person

Can’t make it to the store? Bibliobar offers an online shop where you can browse and order books from the comfort of your home. Whether you’re shopping for yourself or picking out gifts, you’ll find a thoughtfully curated selection that reflects the store’s unique personality.

Bibliobar is open Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 11 AM to 7 PM. The store is closed on Wednesdays, giving the team time to rest and prepare for another week of book-filled fun.
